I am sorry I cannot be at today's funeral - but I want to say how sad I felt to hear about Alison's passing. I have great memories of Alison and her good friend Elissa and others at out Philosophy Club - thinking hard and being a vital part of our investigations of complex ideas - and always with an ethical bent (and usually, it must be said, a glass of red). Alison was a good person - she had a very kind heart, a wise mind and she was also brave. Maybe a teensy bit stubborn. Ha! And she put all to good use in the Queensland Public Sector and elsewhere.
