Messages from Friends & Family

Dear Peter, Michael, Jenny, and your families, please accept my heartfelt sorrow for your losing mum, my Auntie Winnie. The "right" words may be supportive and helpful during difficult times, but they are patheticly useless in taking away pain. My thoughts and prayers are truly with you today and beyond.Time, geographical distances, the inertia of of life, and my complacency may have slowly whittled away at the strength of relationships and communication, but news of your mother's passing was still very upsetting. Childhood, teenage and young adult memories of many positive times spent with Auntie Winnie and you guys shine like beams of light in the darkness. For example, my heart leapt for joy many times at the unexpected arrival of the green bug.Jenny, I've reprogrammed my mind to add you, as a shy, pleasant, mysterious essence that hid under the front bonnet of the bug, definitely not in the motor in the back. No doubt you carry the sparks of your mother's wonderful, encouraging, uplifting personality in your DNA.I currently live remotely, as my wife Julie's carer, and travel can be extremely difficult for us. Regrettably I cannot attend this important celebration of your mum's life, but I look forward to the next time I meet her, and indeed you all.
