Of Dutch heritage, born in Indonesia before WWII, and a proud Australian citizen for over 60 years. Marianne passed away peacefully in the Greenslopes Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family, on Tuesday, 1st April 2025. At the time of her passing, Marianne was only 87 years of age.
Marianne has now rejoined the love of her life and soulmate, Rodney, who passed more than thirty years before her.
Marianne also leaves behind her loving children, Sonja and Wayne, and their partners, Leo and Leanne.
Marianne, or Oma as she was better known, also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren Alyssisa, Usha, Liliana and Neena, who will always remember her for that special bond that can only exist between a grandmother and granddaughter.
Marianne’s family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and Support staff of Greenslopes Private Hospital for their love, care, and attention, which helped to make her final hours as happy and peaceful as possible. They would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff at St Vincent’s Aged Care Kangaroo Point for the tireless care and support they offered Marianne in her final weeks.
Marianne’s family warmly invites all her relatives and friends to attend her celebration of life service, which will be held in the Hemmant Crematorium Chapel, 500 Hemmant and Tingalpa Road, Hemmant, Queensland 4174 (within the grounds of the Hemmant Cemetery) on Tuesday, 15 April, at 11:00.
