Dr Jalil Doostkhah
Originally from Esfahan, Iran
Dr Doostkhah passed away peacefully on Monday 23 March 2026, surrounded by the deep love of his family, at the age of 92.
He was the dearly loved and devoted husband of Fereshteh, his soulmate in life and love. A proud and caring father to his beloved children Anahita, Siyavash, Rozita and Nima, and their partners Greta and Susan, his family was his world. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by those he loved most.
A cherished grandad (Baba Bozorg), Jalil leaves behind his much-loved grandchildren: Ariya, Kasra, Behta, Samanta, Yara, Parsha and Lina. They will forever remember his gentle wisdom and the genuine love he shared so freely.
Though his passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him, the love he gave so generously and the memories he created will live on forever. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and always carried in the hearts of those blessed to call him theirs.
Dr Doostkhah was a distinguished Persian scholar who made a significant contribution to Iranian culture through his research and numerous publications. His work on Iranian mythology, symbolism, and linguistic heritage was not merely academic, it was an act of cultural devotion. Through his writings, he helped many reconnect with the depth and continuity of Iran’s ancient and living traditions. After the service Dr Doostkhah will be taken privately to his resting place.
