Jill Matheson Breau

“Jill Matheson Breau born 26 July 2025 and died 14 September 2026, aged 101 years
Jill led a wonderful and interesting life of challenge and adventure and would have it no other way. She was a businesswoman working on a national scale, a dancer, a wife, a make-up artist, a mother, a CEO and an explorer. She travelled to every continent, every ocean, on every great rail journey and by just about every form of animal transport imaginable. She was a ferocious reader – loving books, the library and bookshops. She earned her degree in History from University of Queensland in her 90s because she ‘would not allow her sons to be better educated than herself’. She loved and was loved by Laurent, her husband of 48 years who sadly passed in May 2022. Jill missed him every day after his passing. Jill was a wonderful mother and is survived by her two sons and their families Adrian (Fabrice), Alida, Aveline and Aurora and Adam, Fiona and Charlie.
Jill’s family and friends are warmly invited to attend her service at Mt Gravatt Crematorium Chapel, 285 Mains Road Macgregor Queensland 4109 (within the grounds of the Mt Gravatt Cemetery), on Thursday 1 October 2026 at 11:00 AM. A gathering will follow at the Mount Gravatt Hotel 1315 Logan Rd Mt Gravatt. No flowers please, but cards or letters are welcome.”
