loving memory of John William Renner who sadly passed away on 16th April 2021
RENNER John William
Born and lived in Brisbane, late of Millmerran.
John passed away peacefully in the Princes Alexandra Hospital on Friday 16th April 2021
At the time of his passing John was only 69 years of age.
John leaves behind his loving daughters Wendy and Dorrelle.
John or Pop as he was better known as also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren Nathan , Abagail , Heath, Lachlan ,Francesca , Issabelle, Isaac and Cain. Each of whom will remember him for his pet kangaroo’s and loving advice.
John’s relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend his celebration of life service that will be held in the chapel of the Hemmant Crematorium 500 Hemmant and Tingalpa Road Hemmant on Wednesday 28th April 2021 commencing at 12:00 Pm
This is a brief summary of what I ( Dorrelle Renner ) remember my dad’s life to be like ,
Dad was born in the Family home at Yeronga on the
04/01/1952
Dad was the 3 Rd child born to
Dorothy Enid Renner & Harry Malcolm Renner
Jan and Ian are his older siblings and Bill and Robert are his young brothers
As a child Dad attended Gumdale primary school, and was all so a member of the gumdale / Belmont scout group ,
Dad went to Wynnum state high school ,
After high school dad joined the army and became a mechanic
dad and mum ( Lynnette smith ) got married at St. John Vianney’s church in manly in 1974 dad was 22 ,
They lived in Thornlands then moved to manly
They separated in the early 80’s
Wendy was born in 1978 , Dorrelle was born in 1980
Dad worked as a mechanic in the army , then Bought Bayside Towing service shortly after getting married,
After mum and dad separated in the early 80’s
Dad moved to New Zealand and worked for a few years as a coach driver for a tourist company , driving tourists buses to the snow fields
Dad returned to Australia in the early 90’s and started working for RACQ in Wynnum , which lead him to starting his own battery business in Wynnum with his mate Jimmy Wrenn together they started J n J ‘s Batteries.
Dad successful run this business until he sold it to retire ,
After retiring dad drove around most of Australian in his Toyota ute that he had converted himself into a camper .
Afterwards dad sold his place in Wynnum west and moved out to his block of land In Millmerran woods , where dad built himself a house and enjoyed living in the peace and quiet of the bush ,
Dad had a group of wild kangaroos that would come to the sliding glass door of his house and eat bread out of his hands his grandchildren would love to watch pop hand feed his roo’s
As a child I remember spending many holidays with dad and Wendy over on Stradbroke Island at a holiday house at amity point ,
Dad was a keen fisher man and he also restored some old cars ( unsure of what makes or models )
Dad gave both me and Wendy our first cars when we got our drives licenses & also fixed then for us if they had any problems ,
