Taurian James Nain

Taurian passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, 31st August 2025, with the love of his family in his hearts.

At the time of passing, Taurian was 36 years young. Taurian leaves behind his loving partner Shannon, his children, Latiana, Scarlett, Vayda, Kassia, Tiara and River, his siblings, Sarah, Josiah and Zarleah and his dear friends who were family, Cody and Zoe who endlessly supported him through his treatment right until the very end.

Taurian’s family would like to thank the community that cared for him including the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Palliative Care team and every medical person who held him including, Dr Hanson and his team, Dr McDowell and his team, Louise and Jose, Nurse Shanon, Denise, the loving Radiation Receptionists, the chirpy Oncology Receptionist, Nurse Cass and Dr John, Nurse Annie and the Metro South Team, the Blue Care Nurses, Kathleen and the many others who helped him in his journey.

We also extend our thanks to Mirize, Aunty Tracey, Cameron and Callan who have been incredible supporters, helping guide Taurian back home in his final chapter.

Taurian and his family have peace in their hearts knowing his spirit is now with his loving mother, Perina Nain.

Taurian’s family warmly welcome his loved ones to attend his celebration of life service that will be held at the Chapel of the Hemmant Crematorium (500 Hemmant and Tingalpa Road, Hemmant), within the grounds of the Hemmant Cemetery on Friday 5th September 2025, arriving at 12pm.

It took a phone call… I explained what I wanted to Ashley… it was a very different funeral to any he had previously organised… but nothing was too much trouble and his willingness and professionalism were outstanding… in giving my beloved partner what we wanted. Johns funeral was held at Lakeside International Raceway (they too were amazing) the service ending with a procession of Ferraris behind the hearses doing two laps then John was given the checkered flag one last time… a befitting tribute to my partner. Ashley was truly wonderful and nothing was too much effort his willingness to go outside the square was brilliant and his recommendation of Tasteful Transitions (live streaming/slides) was excellent. Academy funerals I can’t recommend you high enough! (My partner wasn’t Polynesian) but I needed someone who would work with me to give J the best send off ever! And that was done!

I don’t understand any bad reviews. I used this company for my mother’s funeral and they were absolutely outstanding. Professional sympathetic understanding and great with their time be it the time they took to go through everything with me or all the subsequent calls I made asking questions. They were more than helpful getting me through a tough time and a tough period of time. Prices were outstanding as well. We went midrange cost but they cover cheap to all options someone might want. The ladies he collaborates with to pick up our loved one’s body also deserve high praise - very respectful and handled with care (after hours).Ashley was able to organise a cremation spot that perfectly suits our need for a simple and small service. I highly recommend Academy Funerals. I could not have received a better service or support from Ashleigh and Robin. As a small family business they retain the utmost care and compassion. Nothing was too much trouble as I tried to plan a fitting end of life celebration for my mum recently. They were so accomodating and willing to personalise to my wishes, never once tried to oversell and were always available. The celebrant Robyn not only went above and beyond and the time he gave and the conversations we had truly assisted me in my grief in a way I cannot put into words. Thank you.
