I was so saddened to hear the news of Waynes passing.No words can really touch the pain his family will be feeling right now.I am Waynes cousin and I have very fond memories of growing up together ,and playing at our Nans house , with all our other cousins. These were very special times that cemented forever bonds.Cousins may take different paths in life, however when they see each other again, an instant connection happens.Wayne was a sensitive, caring person with a great sense of humour. He had a way of lighting up a room. I know his family meant everything to him. He will be very missed ,and remain in our hearts.I would like to send my love to his family for now ,and forever. Working alongside Wayne at Jabiru has been the defining highlight of my time here. In the complex, often unpredictable world of youth work, and education, Wayne was a steady, brilliant anchor.
He possessed a rare treasure chest of traits: he was deeply passionate about the young people we serve, fiercely capable in moments of crisis or complexity, and dedicated in a way that reminded us all why we chose this path in the first place. Wayne didn't just do the job; he enriched our learning space, and our sense of community every day.
I loved having someone who operated with such fierce professionalism working right alongside me. He was a true professional, but more than that, he was the gold standard of a teammate. He shared the load with grace, brought clarity to confusion, and approached every challenge with a quiet, capable strength that made you feel like anything was possible as long as Wayne was in your corner.
To lose a colleague like Wayne is heavy, but to have worked alongside him is a privilege I will carry with me always. Replacing a person of his caliber, his heart, and his dedication is quite simply impossible.
Wayne, thank you for your service, your partnership, and your heart. You leave behind a legacy rooted in deep care, and you will be profoundly missed.

Wayne and I met online through our online classes at USC. We conversed quite a bit over the past year or so and he always had something positive to say, was always happy and loved his family. I always enjoyed his company and having a chat. I let one of our tutors know from uni who said how passionate he was and wished more men were like Wayne.
I wanted to thank you all for a beautiful service too and opening your hearts. It was lovely to hear more of Wayne. I can't begin to describe how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I send you all strength for the most difficult time you are facing.
